Blog #10 We made it to 10 !!!

Hey, welcome to my 10th blog post! It’s so cool that I get to write that. I’m proud of myself for keeping this goal up each week and so grateful for all the kind messages and responses I have received over the past 2 and a half months.

I was absolutely petrified when I posted my first blog, doubtful thoughts raced through my mind. Was I being too vulnerable? Was I not being vulnerable enough? Would anyone even read this? How much shit am I going to get for this?

To my surprise, I have not gotten a single negative comment around my blog. Not that the approval of others ultimately matters but it is majorly encouraging knowing there is a network of people out there reading my blog and encouraging what I’m doing.

The other week I was even stopped in a nightclub by a mate from Uni who wanted to tell me he was a fan of the blog. I did not expect any of that when I started, not to mention all the kind messages on my Instagram.

Thankfully just like most things in life the more you do it the better you get and the less daunting it becomes. I can now write these without overthinking too much and it’s become a really enjoyable weekly practice.

The biggest struggle I often have is thinking of what I’m going to write each week. Last week I touched on this idea and ultimately it’s a good problem to have. I’m either forced to put myself out there more or force my brain to be creative and think of ideas. I’m trying to write more off the top of my head and more based on what I’m genuinely most interested in at that moment. Before I realised we were at blog 10 I was planning on writing about how underrated George Harrison was from the Beatles and how much of a dude he was; maybe another week.

The past 10 weeks have been huge. I used to not have any tattoos now I have 3, I now write a blog, and I’m so keen to graduate in a few months. The plan right now is that I’m going to keep up one post a week at least while I’m studying. Once I have graduated and have some more time I wouldn’t mind also talking about music or other things that interest me. Maybe even just review a new album a week.

When I eventually start my travels I really want to be writing a lot. I want to use this as a way to document my travels but also as an excuse to interview some really weird characters. That’s still a little a while away though.

Right now I feel like it's a bit of a new chapter. Starting up the final semester of my studies and I’m set to get a new roommate soon. I’m excited to see what the next few months have in store for me.

Next week I’ll be going on another one of those dinners with 6 strangers. Keep an eye out next week for another post on that. I’ve been putting another one off because I’ve been broke but also have not been fucked to. I feel like doing so many back-to-back with new strangers has got to be exhausting. I’m keen for next week though, it should be good fun.

That’s it for this week though. Thanks for reading and have a great week!
